Members of Tau Alpha Pi receive a certificate and a pin along with their membership, and have the option to acquire an honor cord to identify their honor society membership at graduation.

On joining Tau Alpha Pi, you are eligible to receive one year of free online student membership of the American Society for Engineering Education. Student membership gives you electronic access to a host of engineering and engineering technology resources, including local workshops, and free registration for ASEE’s annual conference. Tau Alpha Pi members automatically receive a subscription to ASEE’s monthly student e-newsletter, The Accelerator, offering the latest news affecting student life, engineering, and higher education; information on contests, grants and scholarships, and internships; tips on career planning; and interesting examples of student research.
Members of Tau Alpha Pi are eligible to apply for a travel grant to help subsidize attendance at ASEE’s Annual Conference. Tau Alpha Pi’s Board Meeting is held annually at the convention and successful applicants are required to attend the Board Meeting. The next conference shall be on June 24-27 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Two travel grants of $750 each are available. For those interested in applying for a travel grant, please submit a one-page proposal to tap@asee.org by 23:59 EST on Sunday February 4, 2018. Applications submitted by this date shall be reviewed by the board, and shall be considered holistically, with attention paid to both the means and the academic merit of the applicant. Applicants can expect to be notified of the Board’s decision by March 2, 2018. The Board reserves the right to award fewer than two travel grants on any given year, and their decision is final.
