The following is a non-exhaustive list of scholarships and other opportunities for applications with an interest or background in engineering technology. Please note, these opportunities are not affiliated with Tau Alpha Pi.
Cisco Global Problem Solver Challenge
The fourth annual Cisco Global Problem Solver Challenge aims to recognize new business ideas that leverage technology for social impact from student entrepreneurs around the world. The Challenge is open to students and recent alumni from any college or university.
General Scholarships
- ACHS Partner Scholarships — The Association of College Honor Societies advertises a handful of scholarships via partner organizations
- American Public Power Association DEED Scholarships — Funding for scholarships, internships, research grants, and technical design projects is available
- AREMA Foundation Scholarships — For those with an interest in railway engineering
- Arthur and Gladys Cervenka Scholarship — Must be studying Mechanical Engineering/Technology or closely related field and achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher
- ASHRAE Engineering Technology Scholarships
- BMW / SAE Engineering Scholarship — requires minimum GPA of 3.75
- Clinton J. Helton Manufacturing Scholarship — Must be enrolled in a manufacturing engineering/technology program or similar program, with preference given to students at Colorado State University and the University of Colorado
- The Gladys Carol Scholarship Program
- Liberty Power Bright Horizons Scholarship — For students who have an interest in energy and the environment
- National Space Club and Foundation Keynote Scholarship — Preference for those with space-related academic and professional interests
- NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Program (S-STEM)
- SME Education Foundation Scholarships — For those in Manufacturing Engineering Technology programs. You must be a member of SME to apply
- Straight North STEM Scholarship
Identity-specific scholarships
- American Foundation for the Blind: The Paul and Ellen Ruckes Scholarship — Scholarship is available to STEM students registered as legally blind
- American Indian College Fund Full Circle Scholarships — A number of scholarships are available through private organizations to support American Indian and Alaska Native students attending non-tribal colleges and universities
- Asian & Pacific Islander Scholarship Fund: Toyota Scholarship — Emphasis given to first-generation college attendees from poorer socioeconomic backgrounds
- Banatao Family Filipino American Education Fund — Must be of Filipino heritage, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate financial need. Restricted to residents of specified California counties
- BHW Women in Stem
- EPP/MSI Undergraduate Scholarship Program — Available to students attending Minority Serving Institutions (Hispanic Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, Alaskan-Native Serving Institutions, and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions)
- Great Minds in STEM: HENAAC Scholarship — Open to applicants of Hispanic origin and/or significant demonstrated leadership or service within the Hispanic community
- Influenster Scholarship for Women in STEM
- LoadView by Dotcom-Monitor’s Women in Computing Scholarship — Open to female students with a declared major of, or least one academic year in, computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field
- National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals Out to Innovate Scholarship — Applicants must be active supporters of and participants in programs or organizations that promote LGBTQ inclusion and visibility
- The Science Ambassador Scholarship — A full–tuition scholarship for a woman in science, technology, engineering, or math. Funded by Cards Against Humanity. Applications re–open this fall
- Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund — Multiple scholarships available for women in STEM
- SWE Scholarships — The Society of Women Engineers has a number of scholarships available for women pursuing engineering and engineering technology degree programs
